29 “And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things.30 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. 31 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need. 32 “So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom." (Luke 12:29-32)
I have a confession to make. While I am so excited and so in awe of what God has been planning and what He has in store for me during this next adventure, I am afraid. Sometimes even terrified as I think about the changes and unknowns that lie immediately before me. I think about the things that need to be done and the funds that need to be raised before the plane wheels lift, and sometimes I fall into a momentary panic.
But tonight I was brought back to the above verses and suddenly realized: I have absolutely nothing to be afraid of. You see, there are few things that I love more than a summer storm. Tonight there was a lightening storm that I had a front-row view of. As I sat watching in admiration of the beauty that God created on the Southern Indiana horizon and thanking Him for silencing me long enough to notice the colors dance across the sky, it occurred to me: the God I worship makes not only the midwestern sun set, the lightening dance, and the corn grow. He also commands the English rains to pour, the grass to green, and the winds to blow. He is here. He is there. And He has gone before. He knows exactly what I need and already has a Provisional Plan laid out. So. Why worry? Why waste these last view days before I leave panicking and wondering and questioning His power? I find great peace in remembering that "the Father already knows our needs" and finds great joy in fulfilling them.
I thank you all for supporting me in this journey as I prepare for my departure. I am so excited to serve and I cannot wait to see how He will work. One of the ways that He is already moving is by teaching me to be completely dependent upon Him and His timing. I encourage you all to pray about giving a monthly or one time financial gift. If you feel like you are called to support me financially, you can give online here. You can also send a check to 4100 Millersburg Road, Evansville IN 47725. Make sure to designate my name when you give.
Also, for all of you prayer warriors, be sure to check out the "Prayer Team" page here on my blog. I'd love for everyone to sign up to receive my prayer updates.
With love,
Britt
