Bet that title got you ready for some version of a melancholy yet somewhat encouraging story , eh? It's really just a summary of a typical Spring day's weather here. If you think Southern Indiana is the capitol for bipolar weather, try Carlisle for a bit. This past Tuesday, it hailed for a good half hour while the sun still shone merrily down on all of us running for shelter. *Sigh*
Anyway...thank you SO much for dealing with my silence the past month or so. My trip back to the States was amazing-stressful and busy-but a much needed time away with family and friends, nonetheless. God used it to teach me just how sovereign He is over every little detail of our lives. He showed up in every little detail of my trip to the 'ville to remind me of just how loved and cared for I am. He knew exactly what I needed and provided it- from my seat mates on the plane to speaking truth through people that I met with to friends that I casually bumped into when I was certain I wouldn't be able to carve out time for them. Oh! And let's not forget the weather. Yay for snowball fights and 4-wheelers!
Here's a special shout-out to all of you who made time to love on me while I was there and for all of the continual support and prayers that I'm receiving over here.
It's business as usual here at Cornerstone, but would you ask for an especially peaceful few days next week? Matt's going on holiday, so I'll be manning the ship. I'm so thankful for the season of volunteers we're going through at the moment, though. They're so reliable and gel as a team really well. Praise the Lord for that!
The past few weeks at Ignite has been...Igniteish. I'm praying for a change in heart towards that group, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to see them through Jesus' eyes. There's one girl who I'm getting closer and closer with, however. I'm praying that our relationship can flourish and that I can speak wisely into some of the things that's she's going through at the moment. Will you lift that up with me? Boy's Club has been a lot of fun lately-I'm really enjoying the time that I get to spend with the group and other leaders. I pray that the boy's wouldn't find it to be all fun and games, though. I desperately want their hearts to be stirred and for them to learn a bit about Jesus. Pray that we as leaders would go about teaching well. And, while we're on the topic of kids, I'm getting more and more comfortable with the preschool Sunday School class. It's so much fun to work the little ones-they're so eager and honest. Last week, one of the parent's told me that their child came home after church and couldn't stop telling them about how Jesus died on the cross because He loves us. Man! What an encouragement that at least one kiddo got the message!
Thanks again for all of your love, support, and patience as I continue on the last leg of this journey (yikes!).
With love,
Britt
